Increase in the Minimum Wage from January 2025

In 2024, the Polish government decided to raise the minimum wage, which will take effect in January 2025. These changes apply to both the minimum hourly rate and the monthly salary. Unlike in 2023 and 2024, no further increases in the minimum wage are planned for 2025.

From January 1, 2025, the minimum monthly salary will be 4,666 PLN gross, which is approximately 3,510.92 PLN net after all taxes. Employees earning the minimum wage will receive 366 PLN more compared to the minimum rate introduced in July 2024 (4,300 PLN gross).

The changes also affect workers paid based on the minimum hourly rate. From January 1, 2025, the rate will be 30.50 PLN gross, which is approximately 22.03 PLN net per hour.

It is worth noting that, unlike in the previous two years, no further increases in the minimum wage are planned for 2025. Initially, it was expected that the minimum monthly salary would be 4,626 PLN gross and the hourly rate 30.20 PLN gross. However, on September 13, 2024, the “Dziennik Ustaw” published a regulation stating that the minimum wage level would be higher than initially planned.

Calculations of the minimum wage take into account the projected inflation rate for the coming year. According to experts, inflation in 2025 will be 4.1%, so the minimum wage will be raised only once. If the projected inflation rate had exceeded 5%, the minimum rate would have been increased twice.
